1. Launch & Discussion
Begin with a brief discussion on the importance of teamwork and communication.
Ask students to share examples of when they worked in a team and what made it successful or challenging.

2. Group Activity: Scenario Solutions
Divide students into small groups (3-4 students).
Provide each group with a Mission Possible Scenario Card that requires teamwork to solve.
Encourage students to discuss and collaborate to come up with a creative solution.
Teacher Role: Circulate the room to observe communication patterns and offer guidance as needed. Look for "active listening" and "inclusive decision making."

3. Individual Reflection
Distribute the Reflection Worksheet to each student.
Ask students to individually reflect on their group experience, focusing on what worked well and what could be improved.
Encourage them to think specifically about their role and how they contributed to the team's success.

Reconvene as a class and facilitate a discussion using the Teamwork Talk Discussion Guide .
Encourage students to share their reflections and insights.

Facilitation Tips
Grouping Strategies
Consider grouping students with diverse strengths. Pairing a naturally vocal leader with a quieter, observant student can provide opportunities for the leader to practice "passing the mic" and the observer to practice "asserting ideas."
Managing Conflict
If a group hits a stalemate, don't solve it for them. Ask: "What are the two different ideas here? Is there a third way that combines them, or how can we decide fairly?"
Observation Checklist

Mission 02: Wild Storm
The Situation:
Your hiking group is caught in a sudden blizzard. You are 5 miles from camp. Visibility is near zero. You have one emergency tent, one stove, and limited food. One member has a twisted ankle and cannot walk fast.
The Challenge:
Do you set up camp here or keep moving?
How do you divide the heavy gear?
How do you keep everyone's spirits up during the storm?

Mission 03: Bug Hunter
The Situation:
Your app is launching in 2 hours to millions of people. A major bug just crashed the servers. Your lead coder is stuck in a meeting, and your designer doesn't know how to code. The press is waiting for a statement.
The Challenge:
Who handles the press vs. who tries to fix the bug?
How do you keep the team calm under extreme pressure?
What is your backup plan if it's not fixed in time?

Mission 04: Festival Save
The Situation:
The school's "End of Year Festival" is tomorrow. The main band just cancelled. The food truck has a flat tire 50 miles away. You have a $0 budget left to solve these problems.
The Challenge:
How do you find entertainment last minute for free?
How do you get the food there without paying for a tow?
How do you divide the work so everything is ready by 8 AM?

Instructions for Groups:
Read your card together. You have 15 minutes to draft a plan. Your goal is not just to "solve" it, but to show how you worked together to arrive at the solution. Every group member must be able to explain one part of the final plan.

This discussion is the "connect" phase of the lesson. It helps students externalize their internal reflections, hear different perspectives on group dynamics, and collectively identify the traits that lead to successful collaboration.
