An individual 1-on-1 counseling session protocol and therapeutic toolkit designed for school counselors, therapists, and social workers. Students examine how impulsive, retaliatory actions harm their own emotional wellbeing and autonomy, explore somatic warning cues, practice the S.T.O.P. circuit breaker, and draft authentic repair scripts.
My Personal Dignity Contract 30-Min Session Agreement
“I recognize that losing my temper gives my power away and hurts me most. When I am pushed or hurt this week, I commit to taking a 90-second pause before responding.”
‘Now let’s talk about why you paid the bill for their mistake, and how to make sure that never happens again.’

Quick Resistance Pivots & Tools
High-yield clinical micro-interventions to keep 30-minute counseling sessions focused, supportive, and momentum-driven.
Rapid Resistance Pivots (Under 60 Seconds)
If Student Says: “They started it! Why am I the one in trouble?”
Counselor Micro-Pivot: “You are right that they started it. But look who is sitting in this chair right now: they gave you the spark, but your reaction gave them the victory over your day. Let’s stop handing them your steering wheel.”
If Student Shuts Down: “I don’t care, it is what it is.”
Counselor Micro-Pivot: “Saying you don’t care is your brain’s way of shielding yourself from the stress. I know you care about your freedom and not having teachers breathing down your neck. Let’s protect your freedom.”
If Student Resists Apology: “Apologizing means I lost.”
Counselor Micro-Pivot: “Apologizing isn’t for them; it takes away all their ammunition. When you cleanly own your part, nobody can hold it over you ever again. It clears your personal slate.”
In-Office 2-Minute Somatic Grounding Drill
1. Physical Drop: Unclench hands, plant both feet flat, let jaw hang loose. Drop shoulders 2 inches.
2. Vagal Breathing: 4-count inhale through nose, 7-count slow exhale through pursed lips. Do 3 cycles.
3. Cost Mantra: Whisper: “I am not burning my own hands for anyone. I keep my control.”
Re-Entry to Class Routine (Minutes 28–30)
