Belonging Blueprint Slides September Focus • Caring for One Another
15-Minute Community Circle
Our Big Question Today
How do we help everyone feel welcomed, safe, and valued?
Every single day, your words and actions build the atmosphere of our school. What kind of space are we creating together?
30-Second Turn & Talk: Think of a time someone made you feel genuinely glad you showed up at school. What did they do?
The Blueprint
Three Pillars of Our Classroom
Built on Daily Care
1. Welcomed
"You belong in this room."
Saying hello using their name
Opening up circles and lunch tables
Nobody sits or works alone by accident.
2. Safe
"You can be yourself here."
Zero laughing when mistakes happen
Standing up or telling an adult when someone is hurt
Mistakes are safe steps in learning.
3. Valued
"Your ideas and voice matter."
Listening closely when others speak
Celebrating different talents and backgrounds
Every voice makes our room richer.
When all three are strong, our classroom is an unstoppable team.
Practice in Action
Spot the Care: What Would You Do?
Everyday Moments
A The Silent Lunch Table
A classmate is sitting at the end of the cafeteria bench looking down at their tray, hesitant to join the conversation.
How can you make them feel WELCOMED?
"Hey, slide down! We're talking about soccer—what's your favorite sport?"
B The Wrong Answer
During class discussion, a student answers bravely but gets the answer completely wrong. Someone in the back snickers.
How can you make them feel SAFE & VALUED?
"I was thinking that too! That was a tricky clue," or giving an encouraging nod.
Whole-Group Question: Which pillar feels easiest for you to practice? Which pillar requires more courage?

Minute-by-Minute Instructional Pacing
0:00 - 3:00 (3 min) 1. Welcome Hook & Shared Connection (Slide 1)
Warm Entry
Say: "Welcome everyone. This September our school is centering on Caring for One Another. Before we start, turn to your neighbor: Share one moment where someone made you glad you came to school today."
Teacher Tip: Keep partner turns snappy (45 sec total). Call on 2 volunteers to share out loud.
3:00 - 7:00 (4 min) 2. The Three Pillars of Belonging (Slide 2)
Direct Framing
Walk through the three foundations quickly: Welcomed (inviting people in, using names), Safe (mistakes are protected, zero teasing), and Valued (listening actively, appreciating different strengths).
Teacher Tip: Have students do a quick gesture for each: Wave for Welcomed, Hands over Heart for Safe, Thumbs Up for Valued.
7:00 - 11:00 (4 min) 3. Spot the Care: Real Scenarios (Slide 3)
Active Discussion
Present Scenario A (isolated student at cafeteria) or Scenario B (teasing after an incorrect answer). Ask: "What is one micro-action that changes this story in 5 seconds?"
Teacher Tip: Emphasize that caring doesn't require a big speech—just moving over a seat or giving an encouraging nod.
11:00 - 15:00 (4 min) 4. Personal Action Pledge & Closing Affirmation (Slide 4)
Student Commitment
Distribute the Care In Action Pledge Sheet . Students write 1 concrete promise they will carry out before the dismissal bell rings today.
Teacher Tip: Have students read their promise silently to themselves, tape it to their desk corner, or place it in their notebook.
Differentiated Supports
Shy / Introverted Learners: Allow non-verbal contributions (written pledge, thumbs-up reaction, partner whisper).
Multilingual Learners: Provide sentence frames on the board: "I make people feel safe by _____."
End-of-Day 60-Second Debrief
Before dismissal, ask:
