Key Prompts
"Notice how your belly rises like a balloon..."
"What's one tiny sound you didn't hear before?"
"If your mind wanders, gently bring it back to your breath."
Teacher Tip
Participation should always be invitational. If a student is uncomfortable closing their eyes, encourage them to find a "soft gaze" point on the floor in front of them instead.

Finding Your Peaceful Place
Teacher/Leader: Read these words slowly and calmly. Take long pauses where you see three dots (...) to allow students time to imagine.
The Setup Sit comfortably in your chair or on the floor. Let your hands rest softly in your lap. Gently close your eyes or look down at the floor. Take a deep breath in through your nose... and slowly let it out through your mouth.
The Journey Imagine you are in a very peaceful place. It might be a sunny beach with warm sand, a quiet forest with tall trees, or even your favorite spot at home.
Feel the gentle breeze on your skin... Hear the soft sounds of nature around you, like waves crashing or birds chirping... See the bright colors and small details of your peaceful place... Stay here for a moment, enjoying the calm.
The Return When you're ready, slowly bring your attention back to our room. Wiggle your fingers and toes. Take one more deep breath in... and let it out slowly. Open your eyes whenever you feel ready.
"Peace begins within."

Prompts to encourage reflection and sharing
1
How did you feel during the deep breathing exercise?
Facilitation Tips:
Encourage students to describe physical sensations (e.g., "my chest felt light", "my belly felt warm").
Ask if anyone felt their heartbeat slow down or their muscles relax.
Validate all feelings—some might feel wiggly or distracted, and that's okay!
2
What senses did you notice during the sensory awareness exercise?
Facilitation Tips:
Invite students to share one "hidden" thing they noticed (e.g., the hum of the fridge, a tiny crack in the floor).
Discuss how focusing on the senses helps stop "busy" thoughts.
Ask: "Which sense was the easiest to notice? Which was the hardest?"
3
What was your favorite part of the guided meditation?
Facilitation Tips:
Ask students to describe the "peaceful place" they visualized in detail.
Focus on the feeling of returning—did they feel different when they opened their eyes?
Remind them that they can "visit" this place in their mind anytime they feel stressed.
"Thank you for sharing your quiet thoughts today. Remember, your mind is like a garden—it gets stronger the more you practice taking care of it."
