Objective
Students will reflect on past experiences and creatively journal to identify and map out three to four meaningful summer goals, complete with actionable steps and visuals.
Why This Matters
Fosters self-awareness, goal-setting skills, and forward-thinking, helping students build planning confidence and connect writing with personal growth.

- Distribute Creative Thought Journaling Template.
- Prompt students to free-write responses to guided questions about hopes and inspirations.
- Encourage doodles or mind-map notes alongside writing.

Goal Mapping Activity
- Hand out Summer Goals Mapping Worksheet.
- Instruct students to select 3–4 goals from their journal.
- Categorize each goal, list action steps, and draw a simple visual representation.
- Circulate to support specificity and feasibility.

- Arrange students around the room to view peers’ maps.
