Instructional Steps
10 Minutes
"What I've Learned" Graffiti Wall
(2 mins) Welcome: Project the title slide. Greet students and frame the day as a chance to curate their "toolkit" for future relationships.
(8 mins) Graffiti Wall: Distribute Graffiti Wall prompts to small groups or have them gather at poster stations. Students write/draw key concepts (boundaries, communication, respect) and "aha!" moments. Play light music.
15 Minutes
"Future Self" Letter Writing
(5 mins) Context: Explain the purpose—consolidating learning into a personal manifesto. Define a timeframe (e.g., to be opened in 1 year).
(10 mins) Drafting: Students complete the "Future Self Letter" activity. Focus on personal values and advice for navigating future social challenges.
10 Minutes
Gallery Walk & Key Takeaways
(5 mins) Collection: Collect letters or have students place them in a safe "vault" area. Shift focus back to the Graffiti Wall.
(5 mins) Observation: Students quietly walk around the room. Prompt: "Find one idea you missed and one idea you feel strongly about."
5 Minutes
Group Celebration & Sharing Circle
Bring the class together. Facilitate a brief "Popcorn Style" share: one key learning or something that surprised them during the gallery walk.
5 Minutes
Relationship Pledge
Distribute the "My Healthy Relationship Pledge." Students commit to one concrete, observable action. Encourage them to keep this in a visible place (locker, notebook, phone case).
