20-Minute Quick Lesson
The Goal
Students will recognize that perspective isn't just about what we see, but how we feel and think based on our unique roles in a situation.
Materials Needed
- Printed Card Sort Sheets
- Scissors (for prep)
- Envelopes for card sets
05
Introduction: The Glass Half Empty?
Ask: "Have you ever argued with a sibling or friend where you both thought you were right?" Briefly explain that Perspective is the way someone looks at a situation based on their experiences and feelings.
12
Activity: Perspective Pieces
Distribute the card sets. In small groups, students must:
- Read the Scenario Card (the event).
- Identify the two Perspective Lenses that match that event.
- Discuss: "Which character's perspective was easier to understand? Why?"
03
Wrap-Up: The Takeaway
"Perspective-taking is like putting on a pair of glasses that belong to someone else. You might not see things perfectly, but you see why they feel the way they do."

Parent
"I've asked three times. I just want the house to be tidy before grandma comes over."

Best Friend
"I only told my cousin because I needed advice. I didn't think she'd tell anyone!"
