1 Interactive Icebreaker: Speed-Sorting Arena
0:00 - 0:10 (10 mins)
Setup: Direct students to Section 1 of their worksheets. Read through 6 common study habits/scenarios rapid-fire. Students have 5 seconds to categorize each scenario as either a "Dealbreaker" (completely ruins focus), "Neutral" (can manage it), or "Gamechanger" (essential to focus).
Script Prompt: "Is studying on your bed an absolute dealbreaker or a gamechanger? What about listening to loud music? There are no right or wrong answers here. Today we are unlocking your specific cognitive wiring to discover how you learn best."
2 Deconstruction of the 5 Pillars
0:10 - 0:20 (10 mins)
Introduce the five core dimensions examined by the Naviance Learning Style and Productivity assessment:
Sensory Visual, Auditory, Tactile/Kinesthetic
Environmental Lighting, Noise, Temperature, Seating
State of Mind Internal motivation, structured tasks
Social Solo study, Peer study, Adult coach
Productivity Time of day, mobility, fluid intake

3 Naviance Log-In & Tracking Dashboard
0:20 - 0:35 (15 mins)
Process: Guide students to access Naviance: My Planner > Self-Discovery > Learning Style & Productivity Assessment. Students review their results summary and log key characteristics in Section A of their Tracker Worksheet.
Troubleshooting Note: If students have not completed the assessment, instruct them to complete the "Express Style Audit" questionnaire on Page 1 of the Worksheet as a manual override.
4 Focus Blueprint Planning Activity
0:35 - 0:50 (15 mins)
Prompt: Direct students to translate environmental and sensory profiles into practical hacks. Students select their focus and structure concrete adjustments for 3 high-impact habits: Classroom Environment, Homework Station, and High-Stakes Test Prep.
Guiding Classroom Prompts
How do you adapt when class gets cold or overly bright?
Should you sit front-and-center or near a side wall?
Guiding Homework Prompts
Do you need active noise cancellation or brown noise?
Are you a kitchen-table learner or an isolation desk learner?
5 Exit Ticket & Action Alignment
0:50 - 0:55 (5 mins)
Students write a single behavioral shift they will make tonight (e.g., "I will put a water bottle next to my desk and turn my screen to warm-light mode at 7:00 PM"). Teacher reviews sheets to verify concrete, measurable changes rather than vague statements like "I will focus more".
Pacing & Pointers
Keep the logging segment snappy. Some students get bogged down reading every paragraph of their profile. Challenge them to find just three key takeaways in the report to write down rather than reading the entire output.
Differentiation
EL/IEP: Focus on sensory and visual imagery cards instead of long-form reports. Let them draw their ideal study space.
Extensions: Lead-author a peer tutoring profile to share exactly how they need to be helped when they get stuck.
