Healthy Rhythms
Build Healthy Routines
• Consistent schedule: Times for meals and bed.
• Adequate sleep: Bedtime routine; limit screens.
• Physical activity: Daily movement (sports, walks).
• Family connection: Shared meals, notes, check-ins.
Coping Skills for Kids

Talking About Stress
• Ask open-ended questions.
• Listen without judgment.
• Validate feelings: “I understand.”
• Avoid over-reassuring.
Model Calm Coping
"Children learn stress management by watching you. When they see you coping in healthy ways, they learn it’s okay to do the same."
Say it out loud: “I’m stressed, I’m taking a walk.”
Practice deep breathing as a family.
Show that asking for help is a sign of strength.
Effort, Not Perfection
Praising effort over outcomes builds resilience and reduces performance anxiety.
• Celebrate small wins and sticking with it.
• Help kids set realistic, achievable goals.
• Normalize mistakes as part of growth.
• Affirmation: “I am doing my best.”
When to Seek Help?
• Anxiety/sadness persists for weeks/months.
• Child avoids school, friends, or activities.
• Physical symptoms have no medical cause.
• Reassurance no longer helps calm worries.
• You feel too overwhelmed to enjoy family.

Finalized Instruction Guide
Workshop Philosophy
This workshop focuses on support, not pressure . We acknowledge the heavy lifting parents do every day. Our goal is to provide practical, calming tools that fit into a busy household.
Key Facilitation Notes:
Tone:
Keep it warm and collaborative. Use "we" and "our" often.
Sensitivity:
We do not mention financial strain as an explicit stressor to avoid adding weight to an existing reality; we focus on time and emotional demands.
Resources:
Explicitly mention that mental health referrals are made through the school site secretary.
