Warm-Up: What's the Word? (5 min)
"Good morning/afternoon, everyone! Today, we're going to explore a really important skill that helps us in school, with our friends, and even at home. The word is 'cooperation' . When you hear 'cooperation', what comes to mind? Shout out your ideas, or raise your hand!"
Listen to student responses. Write down key words or phrases on the board: 'working together', 'sharing', 'helping', 'teamwork', etc.
"Fantastic ideas! It sounds like many of you already have a good sense of what cooperation means. Let's dig a little deeper."

Direct Instruction (15 min)
Display Slide 1: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!
"Our lesson today is called 'Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!'. We're going to learn all about how working together can make amazing things happen."
Display Slide 2: What is Cooperation?
"So, what exactly is cooperation? As you can see, it's about working together towards a common goal. It's about sharing your ideas, and helping others. It's also really important to listen to different ideas and perspectives. Can anyone give me an example of when they've cooperated with someone?"
Allow a few students to share examples.
Display Slide 3: Why is Cooperation Important?
"Why do you think cooperation is so important? Look at the slide—it gives us some clues. When we cooperate, we can achieve bigger and better results than we could alone. We also learn so much from each other, making tasks more fun and easier. And, it helps us build stronger friendships!"

Team Challenge: Build a Tower! (20 min)
"Alright, everyone, I'm going to divide you into small groups. Once you're in your groups, I'll give each group some materials. Your challenge is to build the tallest freestanding tower you can. You'll have 20 minutes. Think about how you'll communicate, share materials, and work together to achieve your goal. Good luck!"
Teacher Tip: Circulate among the groups. If a group is struggling, don't give the answer. Instead, ask: "How are you sharing ideas right now? Is everyone's voice being heard?"

"Excellent effort, everyone! Let's take a moment to reflect. I'm handing out a Cooperation Worksheet. Please answer the questions, thinking about how your group cooperated, or where you could have improved."
"To wrap up, I'm giving each of you a Cool Down slip. Write down one word that summarizes what you learned about cooperation today. Hand it to me as you leave. Thank you for your excellent teamwork!"
