Stress Detective Mission
Your mission: track down the clues of stress and piece together healthy habits to restore balance.
Welcome the students to today’s lesson by unveiling the theme. Use an enthusiastic tone and encourage detective mindset.
What Is Stress?
Stress is your body’s reaction to challenges or demands.
It can affect how you feel, think, and act.
Define stress in student-friendly terms. Ask: “Can anyone share when they’ve felt stressed?”
1
Physical Signs
Headaches or stomach aches
Rapid heartbeat or sweating
Muscle tension or tiredness
Reveal physical clues. Show miming actions (rubbing temples, tapping heart) as you read each bullet.
2
Emotional Signs
Feeling irritable or moody
Trouble concentrating
Feeling overwhelmed or tearful
Discuss emotional/behavioral signs. Invite students to share examples from their own lives.
Unhealthy Habits
Skipping sleep or naps
Overeating or junk food
Avoiding friends
Contrast healthy vs. unhealthy choices. For this slide, focus on habits that can make stress worse.
Healthy Habits
Deep breathing or meditation
Regular exercise or stretching
Getting 8–10 hours of sleep
Now highlight positive strategies. Encourage students to try one new habit this week.
