Learning Objective
In 15 minutes, students will define bullying, harassment, and racism; identify their physical, verbal, and social media forms; practice safe bystander intervention; and learn clear reporting and investigation protocols.

Print one copy of all handouts per student. Review the slide deck definitions. Familiarize yourself with investigation steps.
Instructional Sequence
02 Minutes
Warm-Up: Scenario Reflection
Present a quick scenario: “A student sees a classmate being teased online. What is happening?” Ask students to shout out one-word responses (e.g., "bullying," "harassment").
Teacher Note: List responses on the board and briefly categorize them as physical, verbal, or online.
05 Minutes
Direct Instruction: Definitions
Use the Slide Deck to define Bullying, Harassment, and Racism. Highlight physical, verbal, and social media forms, referencing the Handout .
Encourage students to jot down examples in their handouts as you go.
04 Minutes
Bystander Intervention Role-Play
Explain bystander steps: Notice, Name it, Act (speak up, distract, or escort to an adult). In trios, assign roles: Bully, Target, Bystander.
Practice: "Hey, that's not okay" or "Let's go tell an adult."
Rotate roles so everyone practices being the Bystander.

Reporting & Investigation
Distribute the Investigation Protocol Summary Sheet . In small groups, students discuss how they'd report an incident and what follows.
Invite one representative per group to share key steps.

Hand out the Exit Ticket . Students write one action they will take if they witness or experience bullying, harassment, or racism.
