The PAWS Pride Playbook: Reinforcing Expectations Together
Positive PBIS
1. "Caught Being PAWS-itive"
Hand out PAWS punches when students demonstrate expectations unprompted. Stay tuned for the new redemption schedule!
2. Common School Language
Use shared verbal cues across campus: "Check your PAWS before we line up" and "What does Show Respect look like right now?"
3. Connecting PAWS at Home
Families can adopt PAWS for morning routines (Prepare backpacks), chores (Act Responsibly), and sibling play (Work & Play Safely).
Counselor Tip: Aim for a 4:1 ratio of positive recognition to corrections. Saying, "Thank you for showing Respect by listening silently" reinforces the exact behaviors we want to grow!
