Objective
Students will be able to identify and name at least three different emotions and describe one personal trigger for each identified emotion.
Preparation
Review the Slide Deck for content flow.
Print Naming Worksheet for each student.
Cut out the Trigger Scenario Cards .
Review the Script for delivery.
Why This Matters
Understanding and naming emotions is the first step towards managing them. This lesson empowers students to investigate their feelings and the situations that cause them, leading to better self-control and social interactions.

"Let's start our detective work with a quick 'Emotion Check-In.' Look at the slide. I want each of you to think about how you are feeling right now . In one word, how would you describe your current emotion? If you're comfortable, briefly share why you chose that word."
Allow each student to share. Validate feelings. Example: "Thanks for sharing, Maya. 'Calm' is a great feeling to start our day!"

Slide 3: What Are Emotions?
"Emotions are the feelings we have inside us. They tell us how we react to different things that happen every day. Everyone, every single one of us, has emotions! It's totally normal."
Slide 4: Why Name Feelings?
"Why do detectives name things? It helps us understand! Naming emotions helps us understand ourselves better and tell others how we feel. When we name a feeling, it helps us figure out what to do with 'big feelings'—happy, sad, or angry."
Slide 5: What's a Trigger?
"Things don't happen for no reason. Emotions have something that starts them: Triggers . A trigger is a signal that tells our emotions to start. It can be words, actions, or just a situation."
