Phase 1: The Toothpaste Splash

Hook: Squeeze toothpaste onto a plate. Ask a volunteer to put it back using a toothpick. Lesson: "Once words leave our mouth, they spread and can never be pulled back. That's the Echo Effect."
Script: "We think our words are quiet whispers, but they act like a sound wave—hitting walls, bouncing off people, and amplifying."
Phase 2: The Screen Filter

Phase 3: The Ripple Card Showdown

Group Work: Hand each group a deck of Ripple Cards . Have them pick a scenario card (e.g., "Secret Diary Leak") and place it under the correct category on their board: Amplify, Absorb, or Redirect.
Facilitator: Prompt with: "How can we change this Amplified response to a Redirect response instantly?"
Phase 4: The Wavebreaker Pledge

Wrap-Up: Have students read the "Wavebreaker Pledge" together. Ask them to name one trusted adult or peer they will talk to if they feel overwhelmed by school rumor circles.
Pro-Tips for Classroom Management
If students laugh: Redirect to effect: "Gossip feels powerful for a second, but how long does the stain on trust last?"
Real leaks: If an active conflict is named, pause: "We use fictional names to keep this a safe, supportive lab."
