How do we want our crew to feel?
Rules are promises we make to each other. Let's design our own classroom agreement. Reflect on these questions together:
A How do we show care?
What does it sound like when we are supporting a classmate who is stuck?
B How do we celebrate?
What should we do when someone succeeds or tries their absolute hardest?
Teachers: Pause slides here to brainstorm student ideas on the board! 03 // Co-Creation

Pro-Tips for First-Day Facilitation Success
K-2 Adaptation
Keep brainstorms visual. Draw simple symbols representing each rule. Guide the writing process and focus heavily on physical practice of simple safety rules.
3-5 Adaptation
Let students lead! Have them discuss in pairs, then write selected class promises onto the contract sheet. Emphasize self-reflection and group ownership.
Classroom Management & Support Reference
Immediate Praise: Catch students doing the right thing. Highlight crew behaviors: "I notice table two is ready."
The Whistle Cue: Introduce a zero-noise attention getter. Practice it 3 times until transition is down to 5 seconds.
