Body & Engine Check-In (Slide 2 / Sheet Step 1)
"Class, let's plant our feet flat like strong tree roots. Rest your hands in your lap. Look inside your body: Are you feeling slow, steady, wiggly, or super fast? All feelings are welcome here."
Teacher Action: Dim room lights or silence background audio. Invite students to touch their heart.
Min 2–3
Rainbow Breath & Finger Tracing (Slide 3 / Sheet Step 2)
"Put your pointer finger on your paper track or stretch your arms out wide. Breathe in through your nose like you are smelling a warm flower: 1... 2... 3. Hold at the top. Now blow out your birthday candle: 1... 2... 3... 4."
Teacher Action: Complete 3 cycles together. Exhale should be noticeably longer than inhale.
Min 4:00
Squeeze & Melt (Progressive Muscle Release) (Slide 4)
"Now make tight lemon fists! Scrunch your shoulders up to your ears like a turtle in its shell. Squeeze tight: 1, 2, 3... and MELT like warm butter! Let your arms go floppy like spaghetti."
Teacher Action: Repeat twice. Notice physical tension leaving shoulders and hands.
Min 5:00
Ready Eyes & Learning Launch (Slide 5)
"Give yourself a gentle butterfly tap on your chest. You took care of your body and your brain. Show me your calm body, soft breathing, and ready eyes. We are ready to learn!"
Teacher Action: Offer brief individual silent thumbs-up to acknowledge focused students.
For High-Energy / Restless Learners
Allow standing up while doing the Rainbow Breath arm arches.
Offer a textured calm strip on their desk to trace instead of sitting still.
Give a physical role (e.g., helper holding the chime or turning lights down).
For Anxious / Shutdown Learners
Never force verbal participation; nodding or silent finger-tracing is 100% success.
Keep personal space safe; avoid hovering over their desk.
Remind them their pocket card is theirs to hold whenever big feelings happen.
