Introduce the concept of "rewinding" words before they are spoken.
Discussion Prompt: "Have you ever said something and then immediately thought, 'I wish I could take that back'? What if we had a remote control for our words?"
Key Focus: Identifying times when we need to pause and choose kind words.

10 Minutes
Present the Rewind Your Words Slide Deck to the class.
Discuss the scenarios shown on the slides.
Ask students to predict how the other person feels in each version (kind vs. unkind).
Model the "rewind" motion with your hands together and circling backward.

Kindness Rewind Game
10 Minutes
Organize a role-play game using the Kindness Rewind Game scenarios.
Encourage students to actively "press the button" and modify their words to practice kindness in real-time playground or classroom situations.
Tip: Keep scenarios short and relatable to maintain engagement.
Lesson Wrap-Up
End the lesson by having students share one kind word they can use today. Remind them: "Every word can be kind if we choose it!"

Today, we're learning how to "rewind" our words to make them kind and thoughtful. Let's start our journey!
Introduce the concept of 'rewinding' words by asking students if they've ever said something they wished they could say differently. Emphasize the idea of taking a moment to think before speaking, like rewinding a tape.
What Does 'Rewind' Mean?
Rewind means to go back and think again about what we're going to say.
"It helps us speak kindly!"
Show a simple animation or illustration of a tape rewinding. Discuss how like a tape, we can rewind our words and choose kinder ones.

"Unkind words can hurt feelings and make people sad."
Rewind to Kind
"When we rewind, we change them to words that make others happy!"
Display two scenarios: one showing an unkind word scenario and one showing a kind version after 'rewinding'. Encourage questions and discussion.
