Formal Assembly
Focus & Listen
- Purpose: Guest speakers, academic honors, arts performances.
- Volume: Quiet attention, respectful applause at natural breaks.
- Posture: Seated, facing the stage, hands and devices stowed.
Mindset: Curiosity & Respect
Pep Rally
Spirit & Energy
- Purpose: School spirit, team send-offs, games, music, chants.
- Volume: High energy, roaring cheers, synchronized chants.
- Posture: Standing during cheers, clapping, wearing school colors.
Mindset: Pride & Unity
Read the room: check the event type before entering the arena. Context dictates conduct!
Phase 1: Transit
Getting There: Arrival & Logistics
Smooth Hallway Flow
What to Bring
Leave backpacks, heavy binders, and drinks in your classroom or locker.
Bring only: jacket & spirit!
Walk With Class
Stay with your class or advisory. Walk on the right side of hallways in orderly lines.
No cutting between classes.
Pacing & Timing
Move briskly without running. Hundreds of students are moving through the same doorways.
Keep moving forward into gym.
Hallway Rule: Maintain indoor speaking volume during transit so teachers and peers can communicate clearly.
Phase 2: Seating
Bleachers & Gym Seating
Designated Sections
Fill Every Seat In Order
Slide all the way to the center of the row. Avoid leaving gap seats that force students to squeeze past.
Aisles & Stairs Clear
Never sit on bleacher stairs or yellow lines. Emergency walking aisles must remain completely open.
Stay In Assigned Section
Remain in your designated grade or advisory area so staff can account for all students.
Bleacher Foot Courtesy
Keep feet on your own level. Do not rest shoes on the clothes or backs of classmates sitting below.
Seating Rule: Once seated, stay in place until staff cue standing or dismissal. Keep aisles open!
Assembly Mode
Respect & Active Listening
Audience Protocol
Mic Live = Voices Off
The moment someone takes the microphone, whisper-level drops to zero. Give them full eye contact and attention.
Meaningful Applause
Clap politely when introduced and when finished. Avoid shouting names, sarcastic claps, or side chatter.
Devices Stowed & Silent
Phones and earbuds remain stowed in pockets on silent. Glowing screens distract both peers and presenters.
Representing Our School
Guest speakers and performers remember how they were treated. Your attentiveness reflects on everyone.
Assembly Motto: Show our guests the same respect you'd expect if you stood on that stage. Attentive & Dignified
Pep Rally Mode
Spirit, Chants & Sportsmanship
Bring The Hype
Cheer FOR, Never Against
Positive cheers elevate the arena. We celebrate our athletes, band, dancers, and clubs.
Zero tolerance for booing or taunting any group!
Follow The Cheer Squad
Watch rally hosts and cheerleaders. Join call-and-response chants right on their cues.
Unified chants sound 10x more powerful!
Honor Comfort Levels
Celebrate in ways comfortable for you. You don't have to scream to demonstrate pride.
Clapping along is wonderful school spirit too!
The Instant Quiet Cue: When the host blows the whistle or gives the signal, freeze and silence immediately. Instant Freeze
Accessibility & Care
Sensory Needs & Support
Everyone Belongs
Available Accommodations
Gyms get very loud and sensory-heavy. We ensure every student has comfortable options.
- Hearing Protection: Ear defenders and foam earplugs available from staff or nurse.
- Perimeter Seating: Seats located near exit doors for lower noise levels and easy egress.
- Quiet Alternative Spaces: Library study spaces for students needing low-sensory options.
Feeling Overwhelmed?
Advocate for yourself or support a classmate whenever needed:
- Signal Staff: Catch the eye of any nearby teacher or raise a hand to request assistance.
- Sensory Reset: Staff will escort you to a quiet hallway or designated reset room.
- Be an Ally: If a peer looks distressed or covers their ears, alert a nearby adult.
It is always 100% fine to request ear protection or a quiet break at any time. We're here to support you
Physical Safety
Movement & Bleacher Safety
Non-Negotiables
No Throwing Objects
Never toss paper airplanes, coins, bottles, or props. Flying objects can cause serious eye injuries in packed seating.
No Bleacher Stomping
Bleacher stomping damages mechanical structures and vibrates rows. Never surge forward against guard railings.
Gym Floor is Off-Limits
Stay in bleacher rows unless specifically called down for a rally game, award ceremony, or performance.
Controlled Movement
When standing to cheer, keep two feet planted on your step. Never jump down multiple bleacher rows.
Safety violations result in immediate escort from the gathering and loss of future privileges. Protect Your Peers
Phase 3: Wrap-Up
Orderly Dismissal & Clean Exit
Organized Departure
1
Wait For Section Call
Staff dismiss by grade level, row, or section. Remain seated until your group is called.
No standing up early!
2
Leave No Trace
Check around your seat. Collect any flyers, bottles, or gear and deposit trash in lobby bins.
Respect our custodians!
3
Return Directly
Walk directly back to your scheduled period without lingering or roaming hallways.
Quick, calm transition.
How we exit reveals our school culture just as much as how we enter. Finish strong
