What is Identity Theft?
Identity theft is when someone steals your personal information (like your name or Social Security number) to pretend to be you.
Red Flags: Watch Out!
Strange mail or bills for things you didn't buy.
Phone calls from debt collectors you don't know.
Being "locked out" of your online accounts.
Missing mail (like your bank statement).
Stay Safe Checklist
- Never share your Social Security Number with strangers.
- Use strong passwords with numbers and symbols.
- Keep your ID and bank cards in a safe place.
