Personal Space Scenarios
— Read each situation. Fill in the bubble next to the safe choice!
The Playground Hug
A friend wants to give you a big hug, but you only feel comfortable with a high-five today.
Smile and say, "High-five instead please!"
Hug anyway even though you feel uncomfortable.
Crowded Lunch Line
A classmate stands too close behind you in line and bumps your shoulders repeatedly.
Push them backward quickly with your elbows.
Turn and say calmly, "Please give me personal space."
Asking First
You want to touch a classmate's cool new jacket or play with their braided hair.
Touch it quietly when they are looking away.
Ask, "May I see your jacket?" and accept their answer.

Power Phrases: Match the Boundary Word
— Draw a line connecting each situation to the best words to say!
What is happening:
1. Someone grabs your drawing without asking.
2. A tickle game stops being fun and you want it to end.
3. Someone asks if you want to hold hands walking to art.
What you can say:
"Stop right now. I don't like tickling."
"Yes, thank you for asking me first!" (or "No thank you.")
"Please ask before taking my things."
