30-Minute Instructional Arc
0-5 Min
The Cozy Circle Warm-Up
Introduce Barnaby Bear. He wants to play blocks but only has one block! Sing a quick sharing chant to set a friendly mood and introduce the word sharing .
5-15 Min
Interactive Storytime (Slides & Script)
Present The Great Cozy Sharing Day slides. Use the Read-Aloud Script to pause and ask empathy questions. Have students copy the characters' expressions (sad face when lonely, big smile when sharing!).
15-22 Min
Playroom Sort: Share or Not Sort
Gather around a magnetic board or chart paper. Show picture cards (toy snatching, sliding together, taking turns). Have kids thumbs-up/thumbs-down and help you sort them under the "Happy Bear" or "Sad Bear" columns.
22-27 Min
Tiny Bear Role-Play Scenarios
Hand pairs of students one soft toy/block. Guide them in a mini-practice: "Can I please have a turn when you are done?" -> "Yes, let's share!" Praise positive voice tones.
27-30 Min
Heartfelt Wrap-Up & Draw
Students return to tables to draw a quick picture of themselves sharing a favorite toy. Distribute colorful sharing stickers or high-fives as they finish!
Cozy Facilitation Tip
Pre-K children are developing self-regulation. If a student resists sharing during role-play, normalize it: "It is hard to wait! Let's help Barnaby count to 5 together so we can wait with a happy heart."
