Guided Visualization GuideGuided Visualization Nature Journey Script 6 Minutes Purpose To promote deep relaxation and sensory focus by guiding students through a peaceful mental journey. Teacher Tip "Read slowly and pause often. Use a soft, rhythmic voice. Let your tone match the calm scenery." 1 Settling In 1 Minute Instruction: Dim the lights slightly. Ring the chime three times. “Sit comfortably. Let your shoulders drop away from your ears. Close your eyes, or if you prefer, rest your gaze softly on the floor in front of you. Take one deep breath in... and let it all the way out.” 2 The Nature Path 3 Minutes “Imagine you are standing at the start of a sunlit forest path. The air is fresh and cool. Beneath your feet, the ground feels soft and steady. Feel the warmth of the sun touching your skin through the gaps in the leaves.” Senses Exploration: “Listen closely... hear the birds singing high up in the trees. Hear the gentle rustle of leaves as a soft breeze passes by. Can you smell the fresh scent of pine and damp earth?” “Notice the colors around you—the deep greens of the moss, the bright speckles of wildflowers. As you walk along the path, reach out and touch the bark of a tree... feel how rough or smooth it is.” 3 Returning 2 Minutes “Take one more deep breath of that clean forest air. Feel yourself filled with calm. It’s time to slowly come back. Gently wiggle your fingers and toes. Stretch your arms up high if you need to.” Instruction: Ring the chime three times softly. Invite students to open their eyes. Reflection Prompts "What is one thing you saw or heard on your journey?" "How does your body feel different now than when we started?"
Mindful Minute Warm UpMindful Minute A Simple 60-Second Focus Warm-Up Objective To transition into a state of awareness by focusing on a single sensation or sound for one minute. What You'll Need A soft chime or bell A timer Quick-Start Steps 1 Get Set Ask students to sit comfortably, with both feet on the floor and hands resting in their lap. Invite them to close their eyes or softly gaze at the floor. 2 Explain “For the next 60 seconds, focus on one sensation or sound. Notice how it feels in your body. Notice your breath or the hum of the room.” 3 Begin Ring the soft chime or start your timer. Keep the room quiet and still for exactly 60 seconds. 4 Reflect After the chime, ask students to open their eyes. Invite a few volunteers to share one word describing what they noticed during the minute. Lenny’s Pro Tip The goal isn't "perfect quiet"—it's noticing! If a student hears a lawnmower outside or a stomach growl, encourage them to just acknowledge it and return their focus to their breath.
