A targeted behavioral coaching lesson for student-athletes that translates physical power into self-discipline, personal boundary awareness, and tactical impulse control.
Teammates start playfully shoving each other, calling you out, and challenging you to wrestle.
My Audible (How I disengage without losing face):
Scenario C: Classroom Restlessness / Frustration Energy Spillover
You're stuck at your desk, energy is buzzing, and you feel the urge to slap someone's back or toss items.
My Audible (Physical replacement release):
5 FOUR TACTICAL REPLACEMENT BEHAVIORS
Pocket Lock
Hands deep in pockets until danger passes.
Strap Grip
Clench backpack shoulder straps firmly.
Desk Press
Isometric push on desk or squeeze grip.
5-Sec Exhale
Slow 4-count exhale to reset heart rate.
VARSITY SELF-CONTROL COMMITMENT
Eligibility & Respect Standard
I acknowledge that my physical strength is a talent to be controlled with discipline. I pledge to keep my hands completely to myself, honor personal space, and call an audible when provoked or hyped. I know that roughhousing and aggression jeopardize my team, eligibility, and standing.

Target Rep: Student grips backpack straps, laughs it off with high-status composure, says: "Saving my hits for Friday night," and pivots away cleanly.
THE DISCRETE PROMPT SYSTEM (TEACHER & COACH SIGNAL)
To avoid embarrassing the student in front of classmates, agree on one discrete prompt teachers and coaches will use when observing elevated energy or unsafe hands:
Option 2: Non-Verbal Sign Two taps on own collar / chest as a calm visual flag.
Option 3: Sticky Note Reset Discreet green note placed on desk saying "Audible."

Key Reinforcement: Praise every observed instance of hands in pockets or walking away from provocation. Authentic athletic praise reinforces self-control faster than discipline.
