Objective
Students will learn how to develop a growth mindset by embracing challenges, learning from feedback, and persisting in the face of setbacks.
Preparation (15 mins)
Review the Growth Mindset Video to ensure it is appropriate for the class.
Print copies of the Brain Garden Worksheet for each student.
Prepare Discussion Questions in both English and Spanish.
Familiarize yourself with the bilingual instructions to assist students.

1. Introduction
Briefly explain what a growth mindset is and why it's important.
Use simple language and examples relevant to 4th graders (e.g., learning to ride a bike or play an instrument).
Highlight the benefits of embracing challenges and learning from mistakes .

Show the Growth Mindset Video (using the Slide Deck).
Encourage students to pay attention to examples of growth mindset in the video characters.
Ask them to think about how they can apply these examples in their own lives.

3. Activity & Worksheet
Distribute the Brain Garden Worksheet .
Explain the instructions in both English and Spanish (see Activity Guide).
Allow students to work individually or in pairs to identify a challenge and brainstorm strategies.
Circulate the room to offer assistance and encourage participation.

Use the Discussion Guide to facilitate a whole-class conversation.
