The 15-Minute Flow: How It Works
0:00 - 0:07
Step 1: Focus & Solve (Independent Morning Work)
As students enter, they complete the Daily Spark Sheet. They spend 1 minute reading the morning message, 4 minutes on the academic daily puzzle, and 2 minutes on the Sixty Second Sketch. This encourages quiet, focused independence.
0:07 - 0:12
Step 2: Connect & Share (Morning Meeting Circle)
Gather in a circle. Start with a 30-second rapid wave greeting. Pose the daily Would You Rather question from the Vault. Give 30 seconds of quiet think time, then have students pair-share or complete an "around-the-room" lightning round where each student shares a single-word choice.
0:12 - 0:15
Step 3: Energize & Solve (Total Recall Game)
Run a fast-paced memory drill. Project or read the weekly memory board for 10 seconds, hide it, and challenge students to recall specific details. Ends the meeting on a high-energy, mentally playful peak, transitioning seamlessly into first-period instruction.
Facilitation Scripts & Best Practices
Running "Sixty Second Sketch"
Keep the timer strict! Use a digital timer on your board. Say: "Your prompt is on the board. You have exactly 60 seconds of silent, uninterrupted sketching. Ready, set, draw!" Remind students that these are visual brain storms—rough details, no erasers, and absolutely no stress about perfect artistry.
Running "Total Recall" (Memory)
Point to the memory grid of the day. Say: "Eyes on the screen. No talking, no writing. Lock this image in your mental safe. 10 seconds starts now!" After 10 seconds, cover the board. Ask 3 rapid-fire questions: "What color was the star? What number was in the middle? Which animal was wearing a hat?"

"Total Recall" Memory Challenges
Draw or project a 2x2 grid of shapes or words on the board. Erase after 10 seconds. Ask specific retrieval questions.
Challenge A (Shapes): Top-Left: Red Triangle. Top-Right: Yellow Sun. Bottom-Left: Blue Square. Bottom-Right: 5. (Q: What was bottom-left? Color of sun?)
Challenge B (Words): Top: APPLE, SUN, BAG. Bottom: CAT, DOG, PEN. (Q: What word was next to APPLE? What was the last word listed?)
Challenge C (Symbols): Row 1: #, @, &. Row 2: 7, 3, 9. (Q: Which symbol was in the center of Row 1? What numbers were in Row 2?)
Festive Friday Fun Games
Keep Fridays low-stakes and community-centered. Complete missing work first, then transition to these quick community games.
1. Telephone Sketch:
Whisper a sentence to student 1 (e.g., "The cat caught a star"). Student 1 draws it in 30 seconds. Student 2 looks at the drawing and whispers what they think it is to Student 3. Compare the end results!
2. The 10-Second Masterpiece:
Pass a dry-erase board around. Each student adds exactly ONE line or shape in 5 seconds to create a collaborative masterpiece on the board.
