Teacher Preparation (15 Mins)
Review the slide deck and discussion guide to ensure familiarity with transitions and prompts.
Print the Authenticity Journals or ensure students have digital access with edit permissions.
Test the projector/display setup. Have the whiteboard ready for collective brainstorming.
Prepare a personal anecdote about authenticity to share—this builds immediate trust and vulnerability.

The Why (2 min): Introduce the objective. Explain that high school is often where we feel the most pressure to conform, making authenticity a superpower.

Part 1: Your Core Values
Core values are the fundamental beliefs that guide your actions and decisions. They are what you stand for.
1. What are 3-5 core values that are most important to you?
(Examples: honesty, creativity, kindness, courage, justice, family, growth, compassion, integrity)
2. Why are these values important to you? How do they influence your choices and behaviors?
3. Can you think of a time when you lived in alignment with one of your core values? Describe what happened and how it felt.

Your strengths are the qualities and abilities that help you succeed and contribute positively to the world.
1. What are 3-5 of your greatest strengths?
