Reflect & Choose
LIVING THE FIVE WORDS: COURAGE & INTEGRITY
Part 1
Courage in 7th Grade
Courage is not the absence of fear; it is acting with confidence even when you're nervous.
Raise your hand even if you are not 100% sure of the answer.
Stand up for others when you witness exclusion or teasing.
Own your mistakes immediately without making excuses.
Integrity in 7th Grade
Integrity is keeping promises, telling the truth, and doing high-quality work when nobody is watching.
Submit your own work; cheating and plagiarism break trust.
Be honest with teachers, peers, and yourself.
Honor classroom guidelines, even when the teacher steps out.
Reflect: "Courage gets us started," but "Integrity keeps us strong."
1-Minute Turn & Talk
LEADERSHIP, CURIOSITY, CONCERN
Part 2
Leadership
Setting the standard. Inspiring your classmates with positive behaviors.
- • Volunteering to lead activities
- • Setting a positive tone daily
- • Keeping others on track
Curiosity
Asking great questions. Loving learning. Searching for deeper answers.
- • Asking "How does this work?"
- • Reading books beyond assignments
- • Trying new problem-solving paths
Concern
Supporting the health and growth of everyone in our Hyde family.
- • Checking on a sad classmate
- • Cleaning desks & sharing tools
- • Welcoming new peer voices
Remember: We are a crew, not passengers. What affects one of us affects all of us.
Hyde Brotherhood/Sisterhood
