As the frontline mentors for our students, you know better than anyone that technical mastery is only half the battle. A student can be the best welder, carpenter, or coder in the state, but if they are unreliable, uncommunicative, or ethically flexible, they won't last a week on a professional job site.
We have developed the Professional Edge Curriculum to bridge the gap between classroom theory and the high-stakes reality of the workforce. This 11-part series is designed to give our 9th-12th graders a "competitive advantage" by hardening their employability skills before they ever step onto a Co-Op site or start their first full-time job.
Your role is critical. While we will handle the instructional delivery of these concepts, these skills only become habits when they are practiced in the shop. We invite you to use our common language on the shop floor:
The Trust Battery: Use this to frame student attendance and reliability.
