STUDENT EDITION
Week 5 Challenge
Symptoms do not define you. Values are who you want to be in the storm. Check your top values and commit.
Courage
Integrity
Honesty
Responsibility
Kindness
Growth
Resilience
Self-Respect
Write down your top selected value. Why does this value make discomfort worth facing?
Week 6 Challenge
Decisions are meaningless without action. Define your commitment, sign it, and execute.
1. What is one highly specific, difficult action you will take this week in line with your value?
2. What internal obstacle (fear, laziness, rumination) will arise, and how will you bypass it?
OFFICIAL PERSONAL CONTRACT
"I commit to facing growth discomfort in service of my core values. I understand my healing is my responsibility."

Behavioral Tracking // Metric Log
Track your conscious choices to face discomfort and shut down rumination.
WEEKLY METRIC
Do not let your feelings dictate your direction. Record your scores and highlights daily. Each checkbox represents a conscious choice to step into your Inner Sphere of Control.

What was the hardest emotion or situation you accepted and stood with this week, rather than running or avoiding?
Looking closely at your trackers above, in what ways did taking values-based action change your overall levels of anxiety and control?

Master Curricular Guide // Weeks 3-4
A step-by-step group facilitator guide for shifting sophomore behavior from avoidance to active agency.
FACILITATOR ADVISORY
Week 3 Plan
Core Objective: Move students from an external locus of control ("I am helpless against other people's behaviors") to an internal locus of control ("I choose my reaction").
Group Lesson Concept: "Responsibility" is not a penalty. It is the restoration of your personal authority. Blaming others gives away your control.
Facilitator Script: "When you say 'He made me so mad that I had to yell,' you are saying that boy holds the keys to your brain. Let's take the keys back. How do you choose your reaction?"
In-Session Exercise: Have students complete Page 2 of the Agency Workbook. Have them select a victim narrative they hold and convert it into a choice narrative.
Week 4 Plan
Core Objective: Teach somatic awareness and acceptance of difficult emotions instead of running, reacting, or avoiding.
Group Lesson Concept: Avoidance fuels anxiety. If we allow a physical feeling to exist without fighting it, its energy naturally dissolves.
Experiential Exercise: "Close your eyes. Find where your anxiety resides right now. Is it a weight in your chest? A pulse in your throat? Don't push it away. Let it sit there. Say to it: 'I see you, and I can handle you.' Breathe into that space."
Workbook Focus: Complete the Week 4 challenge on Page 2 of the Agency Blueprint Workbook. Ensure students are mapping physical sensations specifically.

Master Curricular Guide // Weeks 5-6
A step-by-step group facilitator guide for shifting sophomore behavior from avoidance to active agency.
FACILITATOR ADVISORY
Week 5 Plan
Core Objective: Pivot focus away from symptom reduction to value-aligned action. Students identify who they want to be, even in pain.
Group Lesson Concept: "A meaningful life isn't a life with zero anxiety. It's a life where we do important things, with anxiety tucked under our arm."
Facilitator Prompt: "If you select Courage as a core value, does courage mean you aren't afraid? No. It means you are terrified, and you take the step anyway. Discomfort is the fuel for value-aligned steps."
Action Step: Review Page 3 of the Agency Blueprint Workbook. Prompt students to select their top values and write down why their chosen values make discomfort a worthwhile price.
Week 6 Plan
Core Objective: Draft and sign the personal commitment contract, establishing immediate micro-actions and strategies for emotional barriers.
Group Lesson Concept: Growth is verified by behavior. We are not what we say; we are what we choose to do when the discomfort surfaces.
Facilitator Closing Charge: "Healing is work, not a state of feeling perfect. When you sign this contract, you are saying that your goals are bigger than your immediate fears. Go do the work."
Implementation: Direct students to complete the Personal Contract and review the Weekly Metric Daily Log on Page 4. Establish a follow-up plan for weekly check-ins.

Master Curricular Guide // Protocols
Navigating emotional thresholds, avoiding codependency, and maintaining progress.
STANDARDS
If a student demonstrates profound dysregulation, persistent dissociation, or speaks specifically of active trauma abuse, pause the lesson for them individually and follow normal school safety/clinical referral protocols.
Avoid stepping into the savior/victim dynamic. Do not over-accommodate or allow long circles of descriptive venting. Promptly redirect the student to what sits inside their Inner Sphere of Agency.
| CRITERIA | PASSIVE/AVOIDING (1) | INTERMEDIATE SHIFT (2) | ACTIVE OWNERSHIP (3) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Locus of Control | Blames classmates, school rules, or past triggers for inaction. | Acknowledges they have a choice but struggles with blame. | Verbally claims response-ability and details micro-actions. |
| Discomfort Toleration | Refuses to engage in hard tasks; labels stress as threat. | Tolerates stress briefly but seeks distraction/reassurance. | Stays with awkward sensations; takes valued risks anyway. |
| Loop Reduction | Chronically vents to peers; focuses on past incidents. | Catches themselves in rumination; redirects with help. | Actively stops loop discussion; selects actionable choices. |

Let the uncomfortable anxiety sit inside your body without trying to fight or run from it.
2
Choose what kind of friend, student, or human being you want to be right now in this moment.
3
Take one small, physical, visible step that matches your values. Do it while feeling uncomfortable.
