Mission 01: The Feeling Compass
What is an Inner Explorer?
Explorers don't just look at the horizon. They study the terrain, the weather, and the depths.
Noticing how you feel before you act.
Finding the right words for big moods.
Understanding why your "weather" changed.
"Knowing yourself is the greatest adventure."
Your Primary Tool
The Feeling Compass helps you find your direction when things feel heavy or heated.

Heart Map Facilitator Guide Mission Guide: Heart Map
Facilitator's Protocol for Introspection
Core Objective
To move the student from globalizing emotions ("I'm just mad") to particularizing emotions ("I am frustrated because my expectation wasn't met").
01
The "Name It to Tame It" Rule
Encourage the student to use the **Feeling Compass** even when they aren't in crisis. Building vocabulary during "blue sky" times makes it accessible during "storms."
Prompt: "If your mood right now was a color on the compass, what shade would it be?"
02
The Expectation Audit
Frustration is often the gap between what we expected and what happened. Use the templates in the Pressure Valve journal to bridge this gap.
Tip: Don't argue with the frustration; audit the expectation together.
03
Holding Space for Grief
For grief, the goal isn't "getting over it" but "growing around it." The **Memory Garden** is a container. If the student is resistant to writing, offer to scribe for them while they draw.
Quick-Response Templates
When student is stuck:
"It sounds like you're feeling [Word]. On a scale of 1 to 10, how loud is that feeling in your head right now?"
When student is overwhelmed:
"Let's put that feeling in the 'Deep Dive' template. What part of your body feels it most?"

Gardener's Reminder Grief doesn't have a timer. Some days the weeds grow fast, and some days the flowers bloom. It is okay to feel however you feel today.
