Silly Scenarios #01
Prompt
"If your favorite stuffed animal or pet could talk for just five minutes, what do you think their voice would sound like, and what would they say?"
Keep it going: "Do you think they would tell us a secret or ask for extra snacks?"
Tip: Use a funny animal voice first to invite them to mimic you!
School & Play #02
Prompt
"What was the very best thing your hands touched, built, drew, or played with today?"
Keep it going: "Was it squishy, smooth, bumpy, or sticky? Show me how you held it!"
Tip: Concrete sensory questions beat vague questions like "How was school?"
Imagination Station #03
Prompt
"If you invented a brand new flavor of ice cream that no one has ever tasted, what would it taste like and what toppings go on top?"
Keep it going: "What wacky color is the scoop? What would you name your flavor?"
Tip: Encourage bizarre combinations (e.g., pancakes & sprinkles).
Feelings & Heart #04
Prompt
"When you feel like doing a giant happy dance, what is usually happening? Can you show me one happy dance move?"
Keep it going: "Where in your body do you feel happiness first—in your toes, your belly, or your smile?"
Tip: Physical movement lowers conversation stress for young learners.
Superpowers #05
Prompt
"If you could turn into any creature for recess or outside play, which animal would you pick and how would you zoom across the yard?"
Keep it going: "Would you fly high, burrow underground, or swing through the trees?"
Tip: Ask them to demonstrate the animal sound or wiggle!
Wonder & Clues #06
Prompt
"What is something you saw or heard today that made your brain wonder: 'Hmm, how does that work?'"
Keep it going: "What do you think is inside it? Let’s make a wild guess together!"
Tip: Praise curiosity over "knowing the right scientific answer."
Cut along the dashed borders. Hole-punch the top corner to clip onto a binder ring! Little Sparks Prompt Cards • Page 1

Tip: Builds social-emotional awareness by noticing peers' emotions.
Wild Scenarios #08
Prompt
"If dinner tonight had to be made completely out of breakfast foods or desserts, what would you pile onto your plate?"
Keep it going: "Would we eat it with forks or eat it with our hands?"
Tip: Great prompt to use while sitting at dinner or during snack time!
Giggle Break #09
Prompt
"On the count of three, show me your absolute goofiest, silliest face! One... two... three... GO!"
Keep it going: "What should we name this face? When would someone make that face?"
Tip: Perfect icebreaker when a child seems withdrawn, shy, or tired.
Secret Bases #10
Prompt
"If we built a giant pillow fort that reached all the way to the ceiling, what three secret rules would everybody have to obey to enter?"
Keep it going: "Do you need a secret password or a funny hand clap to get in?"
Tip: Gives children an empowering sense of agency and rule-making.
Cozy & Calm #11
Prompt
"When you feel a little tired or need some quiet cozy time, what helps you feel peaceful and loved?"
Keep it going: "Is it a warm blanket, a favorite book, soft music, or a bear hug?"
Tip: Ideal for bedtime, quiet time, or transitioning after a busy day.
Future Fun #12
Prompt
"If tomorrow morning could have one exciting surprise waiting for you when you open your eyes, what would it be?"
Keep it going: "Who would you share that surprise with first?"
Tip: Creates joyful anticipation and positive mindset before sleep.
