Starting My Day
Morning arrival and getting ready to learn
Morning Routine
Every morning when I arrive at school, I am excited to see my friends and teachers! Following my morning steps helps me start my day feeling happy, calm, and ready.
Step 1
Say Warm Hellos
I smile, wave, and greet my teacher and friends with a happy "Good morning!"
Step 2
Unpack My Cubby
I hang my coat on my hook, put my backpack away, and take out my folder.
Step 3
Morning Activity
I choose a morning tub, write my name, or read a book quietly at my table.
Step 4
Listen for the Chime
When the signal rings, I freeze, put tools down, and walk to our circle rug.
I can do my arrival routine all on my own!

Kind Words & Gentle Hands
Treating everyone with care and kindness
Friendly Choices
In our classroom, we want everyone to feel safe and loved. Our words have power to lift people up, and our hands are for helping, drawing, and high-fives!
Words I Can Use
💬
"Please" and "Thank you" when asking for things.
💬
"You can play with us!" when a friend is alone.
💬
"Are you okay?" if someone trips or looks sad.
💬
"Good job trying!" to cheer on our friends.
Kind words make our hearts feel warm!
Gentle Hands
✨
Personal Space: I keep my hands and feet in my own space bubble.
✨
Gentle Touch: I do not push, grab, or hit, even when I am upset.
✨
Helping Hands: I help pick up dropped crayons or hold the door.
✨
Safe Hands: Hands rest quietly in my lap during rug time.
Hands are for building, drawing, and high-fives!

Sharing & Taking Turns
Playing together is fair and fun
Fair Play
Sometimes two friends want the same toy at the same time. That is okay! We take turns so everyone gets a chance to play and smile.
Step 1
Look & Notice
I notice my friend is having fun with the blocks. I do not grab it from their hands.
Step 2
Ask Calmly
I use a calm voice: "May I please have a turn when you are finished?" or "Can we build together?"
Step 3
Wait Patiently
While I wait, I can pick another fun game, read a book, or set a sand timer with my teacher!
Step 4
Trade & Thank
When my turn comes, I say "Thank you!" When my timer is up, I pass the toy with a happy heart.

Solving Small Problems
How to stay calm and work it out
Problem Solver
Sometimes things do not go the way I planned, and that is okay! I have special tools inside me to stay calm and solve small problems.
Small Problem
I can try to solve it!
- Someone took the blue crayon.
- Someone accidentally bumped me.
- Someone is in my favorite spot.
- I need to wait for my turn.
💡 What I do: Take a deep breath and use my talking words!
Big Problem
Get a teacher right away!
- Someone is hurt or crying.
- Someone is being unsafe.
- I tried my words, but it did not stop.
- An emergency is happening.
🚨 What I do: Walk directly to my teacher and ask for help!
My 3 Peace Steps for Small Problems
1
Breathe In & Out
Smell the flower, blow out the candle 3 times.
2
Say How I Feel
"I feel sad when you take my paper. Please stop."
3
Make a New Plan
Share, take turns, or find another great toy.

Walking in Line & Moving Together
Moving safely throughout our school
Hallway Manners
When we leave our room to go to the playground, gym, or library, we travel as a team! Walking quietly keeps everyone safe and lets other classes keep learning.
Eyes Looking Ahead
I watch where I am going so I do not bump into the friend in front of me.
Quiet Voices (Bubble In)
I put a quiet air bubble in my mouth or zip my lips so the hallway is peaceful.
Hands Rest at My Sides
My hands stay resting at my sides or gently in my pockets, off the walls.
Gentle Walking Feet
I always walk indoors. Running is for outside on the grass and playground!
