Welcome to Our Small Group!
Your child is participating in Bricks of Confidence, an interactive MTSS small group where we use hands-on activities, building challenges, and group discussions to help children build strong social-emotional confidence—especially when learning feels challenging or new!
Thinking Like a "Builder"
What we practice in group each week
Keeps Trying
Recognizes that mistakes are simply first drafts and sticking with it builds real strength.
Problem-Solves
Pauses to ask questions, breaks big hurdles into smaller bricks, and tests fresh ideas.
Believes in Growth
Knows that brains get stronger with practice—saying "I can't do it yet!"
How You Can Support at Home
Try These 4 "Builder Talk" Phrases
You can reinforce these skills during homework, games, chores, or creative play by using simple builder language:
When feeling stuck on a task:
“What’s another way you could try?”
Encourages flexibility instead of freezing or giving up.
When working through struggle:
“I noticed you didn't give up — that's builder thinking!”
Praises effort and stamina rather than just speed or perfection.
When feeling overwhelmed:
“What step can you take first?”
Helps break large, daunting jobs down into one doable brick.
After finishing or making progress:
“What are you proud of?”
Nurtures internal motivation and self-reflection.
Quick Refrigerator Reminder
Confidence is built brick by brick
Model it: Share aloud when you make a mistake and how you rebuild.
Pause & breathe: Taking a 30-second break helps reset a frustrated brain.
Celebrate grit: Point out small wins and steady progress each day.
Together in Growth: Confidence is something children build over time. With encouragement and practice, your child can continue growing their "builder brain" every day!
