Your Guide to Finding the Right Job
Be Brave Be Prepared Be You
The Power of "Not Yet"
What "No" Really Means:
It is practice for the next one.
That specific job wasn't the best fit for you.
You are one step closer to a "Yes!"
"Getting a 'no' doesn't mean you aren't good enough. It just means that door wasn't ready to open today."
Dressing for Success
Clean & Neat
Clothes should be washed, wrinkle-free, and fit you well.
The "Goldilocks" Rule
Not too fancy (tuxedo), not too casual (pajamas). Professional but comfortable.
Grooming
Brush your hair, clean your nails, and have a fresh face.
Quick Tip: Lay your clothes out the night before to avoid morning stress!
Virtual & Zoom Etiquette
Lighting
Keep a light in front of you, not behind you.
Eye Contact
Look at the camera lens, not just the screen.
Background
Find a quiet, tidy space with no distractions.
The 10-Minute Rule:
Log in 10 minutes early to check your Mic , your Camera , and your Internet . This helps calm the jitters!
Answering the "Hard" Stuff
"Tell me about a time you made a mistake."
They want to know if you can learn and grow!
Formula: What happened + How I fixed it + What I learned.
"What is your biggest weakness?"
Pick something small that you are working on.
Example: "Sometimes I get nervous, so I take a deep breath to stay focused."
The Phone Screen
Phone Tips:
Smile while you talk (they can hear it!)
Keep your notes in front of you.
Speak clearly and not too fast.
Practice the Greeting:
"Hello, this is [Your Name]!"
Short, friendly, and professional.
You've Got This!
Every interview is a chance to show who you are. Remember: You are valuable, you have great skills, and the right job is looking for you too.

Facilitation Scripts
For Resilience (Hour 1)
"Getting an email that says 'no' can feel like a punch in the stomach. But did you know that even the most successful people in the world get rejected hundreds of times? Today, we're going to treat every 'no' like a scout badge—it means you're out there, you're trying, and you're getting better every time."
For Hard Questions (Hour 3)
"When an interviewer asks about a mistake, they aren't trying to catch you being bad. They want to see that you are honest and that you care about doing a good job. We're going to pick one simple story and practice it until it feels like a normal conversation."
If Anxiety Peaks
1. Stop the drill immediately.
2. Validate the feeling: "It's completely normal to feel nervous right now. That just means you care."
3. Reset: Use a 5-second breathing exercise together.
4. Shift: Move to a physical task (e.g., tidying the virtual space or looking at attire photos) before returning to verbal practice.
Instructor's Golden Rules
Model the Behavior: Be the professional you want them to be.
Praise Effort: Not just results. "I love how you took a breath before answering."
Visual Aids: Always refer back to the Slides or Cheat Sheet.
