Adventure Mission Overview
The School Safari is an active, cooperative orientation activity. Students practice navigating the building using rhyming riddles to find critical facilities. By visiting the clinic, lunchroom, Room 301, Room 329, the Main Office (across from the gym), and the Library, students demystify the school layout and connect with key staff members.
Phase 1: Preparation
- ✓ Print Materials: Print one set of School Safari Clue Cards. Print one Student Safari Guide for each student.
- ✓ Coordinate Staff: Inform the Nurse, Cafeteria staff, Room 329 Counselor, Main Office staff/Principal, and Librarian of your tour schedule!
- ✓ Place Cards: Cut out and hide the 6 Clue Cards at their target destinations to act as active checkpoints.
- ✓ Stickers or Stamps: Provide target adults with stamps/stickers to sign off on the kids' field guides upon visit.
Phase 2: Launch & Hunt
- Form Patrols: Split students into small groups ("Safari Squads") paired with a teacher or student leader.
- Distribute Logs: Hand out the "Safari Guide" logs and explain how to stay together in a walking line.
- Read the First Clue: Start at home-base by reading Clue 3 (Room 301) to kick off the expedition!

Gathering Circle & Debrief Prompts
When squads return to Room 301, sit in a circle to share feelings and check tracker logs. Use these three core framing questions:
Office Hub
"When would you need to visit the Main Office (across from the gym) during the day?"
Room 329 Check-In
"What is one feelings strategy you can do with the counselor in Room 329?"
