Mission Overview
In this engaging lesson, students participate in a collaborative group activity where they work together to 'build' toys for Santa's workshop. This lesson is designed to enhance teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. By working together, students will learn the importance of cooperation and effective communication in achieving a common goal.
Resources Needed
Toy building materials (blocks, paper, tape, etc.)

Setup & Prep
Prepare kits of "scrap" building materials for each team. Print enough Blueprints for one per group of 3-4 students. Ensure the slide deck is ready for the timers and prompts.
Phase Time Activity & Instructions Introduction 5 min
Discuss the importance of teamwork and communication in achieving goals.
Explain the mission: students are now Workshop Elves tasked with designing and building a new toy for the North Pole.

Divide students into small "Elf Crews" (3-4 students).
Distribute the Toy Blueprint Worksheet to each group.
Groups must brainstorm and sketch their design before receiving materials. They must agree on a name and function for their toy.

Provide building materials. Instruct teams to work together to build their toy according to their blueprint.
Teacher Role: Circulate and observe communication styles. Ask: "Who is in charge of this part?" or "How did you decide on that?"

Have each team present their toy briefly. They should explain the toy's name, function, and one way they worked together as a team.
