FACILITATOR ONLY
Transitioning to Circle
"Okay, everyone, let’s settle back into our circle. Thank you so much for sharing your affirmation cards. Now we’re going to talk about how the mirror activity felt for you. Remember our group agreements: one person speaks at a time, we listen with respect, and what’s said here stays here."
1. The Experience
Teacher Script:
"Our first question is: 'How did it feel to look in the mirror and focus on positive things about yourself?' Raise your hand if you’d like to share. I’ll start—when I look in a mirror and say something kind, it makes me feel warm and proud. Who would like to go next?"
Follow-up Prompts
• "Can you tell us more about that feeling?"
• "What was running through your mind during your first message?"
Look For
Smiles, initial hesitation followed by openness, sense of pride.
2. Navigating Challenges
Teacher Script:
"Thank you for those honest responses. Our next question is: 'What challenges came up when you tried to think positively about yourself?' Who noticed any tricky thoughts or feelings?"
Follow-up Prompts
• "Was there one prompt that felt harder than the others?"
• "What kind of negative thoughts popped up? How did you handle them?"
Facilitator Note
Validate that it's normal to feel resistance. Avoid "fixing" the feeling—just hold space for it.
3. Peer Support
Teacher Script:
"Great reflections, everyone. Now let’s think about how to keep this going. 'How can we support each other outside of this session when someone needs a reminder of their positive messages?' "
Follow-up Prompts
• "What could a friend say to help you remember your affirmations?"
• "Where might you place a note at home to see it every day?"
Key Theme
Community care and tangible reminders (environment design).
Closing & Action
Teacher Script:
"I love these ideas—thank you for sharing. To wrap up, who would like to share one concrete step they plan to take this week to keep practicing positive self-talk? It can be big or small."
"Thank you all for your courage and honesty today. You’ve done wonderful work supporting one another. Remember, your mirror messages and affirmation cards are tools you can use anytime you need a boost. I’m proud of each of you!"
