Present slides introducing the concept of 'Mid-Year Momentum'.
Briefly explain that this lesson is about using experiences to build a strong second semester.
Focus on key insights and one clear goal.

Distribute the "My Momentum Map" Worksheet.
Instruct students to focus ONLY on one academic area for growth/success and one social/personal area.
Set ONLY ONE top goal (academic or social/personal).
Circulate and offer support as students identify their key areas and initial goal.

Quickly pair up students.
Share one top goal from their "Momentum Map" (1 min per person).
Partners offer one quick, encouraging suggestion or thought (1 min total).

Cool-Down: One-Word Resilience
4 Mins
Distribute the "My Resilience Reflection" Journal.
Focus only on prompt #2: "What does 'resilience' mean to you? How have you shown resilience in the past?"
Complete a very brief entry: one word for resilience and 1-2 sentences explaining their example.
Conclude by emphasizing the power of quick reflection and adaptability.
Teaching Note
The 20-minute rapid version of this lesson is designed for high impact and efficiency. If you have the full 60 minutes, students can complete the entire worksheets and have longer group discussions (as outlined in the Activity Guide). Adjust pacing based on student needs.
