"Good morning, class! Today, we're going to do something really important and fun: we're going to celebrate ourselves! Before we dive in, I want you to take a moment, close your eyes if you feel comfortable, and think about one small 'win' you've had in the past week. It could be anything! Maybe you finally understood a tricky math problem, or you helped a friend, or you read a chapter in a book that was a bit challenging. Keep that win in your mind for a moment."
(Pause for 10-15 seconds)
"Okay, you can open your eyes. Today, our goal is to recognize and celebrate our progress, and to understand that it's okay to make mistakes and always keep growing. This helps us build confidence and be kind to ourselves as we learn."

"So, what exactly is a 'win'? When I say 'win,' what comes to your mind? Turn to your elbow partner and share what you think a 'win' is, and maybe even share the small win you just thought of."
(Allow 1-2 minutes for partner discussion. Circulate and listen.)
"Alright, let's hear some ideas! Who would like to share what they discussed? (Call on 2-3 students). Excellent points! A win isn't just about winning a game or getting a perfect score. It's about overcoming challenges, learning new things, helping others, showing kindness, or even just sticking with something when it's hard. Every little step forward is a win!"
Display Slide 3
"Why do you think it's important to celebrate these wins? Why shouldn't we just move on to the next thing? (Take 1-2 student responses). You've got it! Celebrating our wins helps us feel good about ourselves, it builds our confidence, and it reminds us that we are capable of learning and growing. It also helps us practice what we call a 'growth mindset' – the belief that our abilities can be developed through hard work. And it teaches us 'self-compassion' – being kind to ourselves, especially when things are tough."

"Now, you're going to have a chance to do some personal reflection in your own My Wins Journal . I'm going to hand these out now. In this journal, you'll have two main tasks:"
"First, I want you to write down a few things you're really proud of from this past week or even this school year. These are your 'wins'!"
"Second, and this is just as important, I want you to think about one area you want to work on or improve. This isn't about feeling bad; it's about recognizing where you want to grow next."
