🎬
Your Mission:
Read the scenario • Pick Option A or B • Act it out live!
Level: Champion
Scenario 1
Recess Tag Gets Wild 🏃💨
Body Boundaries
📍 The Situation: You are super excited playing tag. You run fast, grab your friend's shirt, and pull them down. They shout: "STOP! Don't pull me!"
OPTION A
Say: "It's just tag, don't be a baby!" and keep chasing them.
❌ Hurt feelings & game ends
OPTION B (CHAMPION MOVE)
Freeze right away, step back 2 steps, and say: "Sorry! Two-finger gentle tag only."
🌟 Safe body & friends keep playing!
🎭 ROLE-PLAY ACTION: Stand up! Show your instant freeze and 2-step step-back!
Scenario 2
The "Funny" Name Joke 🤪
Jokes vs. Teasing
📍 The Situation: You call your friend "Stinky Stinky Smelly-Pants" and laugh. Your friend looks down at their shoes, crosses their arms, and goes quiet.
OPTION A
Say it 5 more times because you think it’s hilarious, then say "I'm just joking!"
❌ This is hurtful teasing (laughing AT them)
OPTION B (CHAMPION MOVE)
Notice their face, stop the name right away, and say: "Hey, I’m sorry. I won't call you that."
🌟 Real jokes make BOTH people smile!
🎭 ROLE-PLAY ACTION: Look at your partner's face. Say the champion apology right now!
Scenario 3
The Hug / Tickle Monster 🫂
Personal Bubble
📍 The Situation: You run up behind a classmate on the rug and wrap your arms tight around them to tickle them. They wiggle and yell: "Get off! No!"
OPTION A
Squeeze tighter and keep tickling because they are giggling from reflexes.
❌ Body bubble violation (Tickling when told NO is not okay)
OPTION B (CHAMPION MOVE)
Let go instantly, put hands in your own lap, and say: "Sorry! My hands are back in my bubble."
🌟 Hands in own space = Champion trust!
🎭 ROLE-PLAY ACTION: Show: Release hands immediately and tuck them in your lap!
Scenario 4
The Giant Block Tower 🧱💥
Space & Materials
📍 The Situation: A classmate spent 10 minutes building a huge tower. You think it would be hilarious to smash it like Godzilla and scream "BOOM!"
OPTION A
Kick it down and laugh, then say: "Blocks are for knocking down anyway!"
❌ Destroys hard work & breaks friendship trust
OPTION B (CHAMPION MOVE)
Keep hands back, admire it, and ask: "Whoa, awesome tower! Can we knock it down together or add to it?"

🎭 ROLE-PLAY ACTION: Ask with polite voice and hands behind back: "Can I join in?"

Boundary Champions Teacher Guide
SEL Tier 1 / Tier 2 Intervention
Boundary Champions: Educator Guide
Focus: Personal Space • Verbal Consent ("No Means No") • Kind Words vs. Teasing
Target: Age 5–7
Session Duration: 25–35 Min
Targeted Intervention Goal
To replace impulsive physical boundary violations and unintentional verbal cruelty with concrete self-regulation routines: honoring the physical space bubble, executing an instant physical freeze upon hearing "No" or "Stop", and distinguishing between shared humor and hurtful teasing.
Explicit Teaching Scripts (Say This Verbatim)
🫧 1. The Space Bubble
"Put your arms out like wings. That invisible circle is your bubble. Before your hands enter someone else's bubble, you MUST ask and get a happy yes."
🛑 2. Stop Means Freeze
"'Stop' and 'No' are magic freeze words. The very second you hear them or see a hand up, your hands freeze, you take one step back, and you say 'Okay'."
💛 3. Joke vs. Tease
"A real joke makes EVERYONE laugh. If your friend is quiet, frowning, or turning away, it is not funny. Saying 'I was just joking' does not fix a hurt heart."
Kinesthetic Boundary Drills (10 Minutes)
Drill A: The Airplane Bubble Walk Body Space Awareness
Students spread arms out and walk around the carpet without fingertips brushing anyone or any furniture. If two students come close, both gently pivot away like bouncing balloons. Reinforce: "Notice how good it feels when everyone's bubble is safe!"
Drill B: The Stop-Shield Freeze Impulse Control
Call out playful pretend actions (marching, high-stepping, silly dancing). Hold up a red stop-sign paddle or have a student call out "STOP!". The entire group must freeze like statues immediately. Practice taking one deliberate backward step on the freeze.
Drill C: Face Detective Quick-Check Social Cue Reading
Teacher makes exaggerated facial/body expressions (genuine smile, uncomfortable grimace, sad downturned mouth, crossed arms). Students signal with thumbs up (Green: Keep playing) or crossed forearms (Red: Freeze & Check In).
💡 Quick Cue: When boundary slips occur, cue the student with: "Check your bubble and face clues!" Page 1 of 2
