Program Philosophy
The Future Blueprint series is designed to combat "Senioritis" and graduation anxiety by providing students with a technical, high-stakes framework for their transition to adulthood. Rather than generic goal-setting, this series uses industry-standard tools (SMART, WOOP, Eisenhower Matrix, 90-Day Sprints) to help students feel like the CEOs of their own lives.
At a Glance
3 Instructional Sessions
3 Student Action Projects
Total Duration: 135-180 min
01
Vision Mapping
Phase: Definition
Key Discussion Prompts
"Why is independence a value for some and a fear for others?"
"What is the difference between a dream and a technical goal?"
Teacher Note
Focus heavily on the "Specific" part of SMART. 12th graders often write goals like "be successful." Push them to define what that looks like in terms of rent, salary, or credits.
02
Obstacle Navigation
Phase: Resilience
Key Discussion Prompts
"Why do we often ignore the obstacles when we first set a goal?"
"How much of your 'busy work' is actually in the 'Delete It' quadrant?"
Teacher Note
The WOOP method is scientifically proven. Encourage students to be brutally honest about their "Internal Anchors"—fear and laziness are common, but valid obstacles.
03
Launch Readiness
Phase: Execution
Key Discussion Prompts
"Who is on your Board of Directors today? Who needs to be added?"
"What happens when you go public with a goal? Does it change your effort?"
Teacher Note
This is the most tactical session. If time allows, have students actually set a recurring "Weekly Review" alarm on their phones during class.
Support & Extension
For Students Who Need Support
• Sentence Starters: Provide the goal-statement templates on the board.
• Peer Brainstorming: Allow students to identify "Goal Killers" in pairs.
• Simplified Scope: Encourage a 30-day goal instead of 90.
For High-Flyers
• Mentorship Outreach: Have them draft an email to their "Mentor."

Lesson 2: Pressure Testing Your Plan
"No plan survives contact with the enemy."
— Helmuth von Moltke
The "Enemy" isn't a person. It's life's friction.
Unexpected expenses & bureaucracy.
Self-doubt, burnout, and procrastination.
Resilience Training
The Goal Killers
External Walls
Financial Gaps: Things cost more than planned.
Gatekeepers: Requirements you didn't know existed.

Isolation: Trying to do it all alone.
The WOOP Method
Mental contrasting for realistic success.
Wish
What is your meaningful goal?
Outcome
What is the best possible result?
Obstacle
What internal/external thing stands in the way?
Plan
If [obstacle] happens, then I will [action].

Lesson 3: The 90-Day Execution Plan
"The first 90 days define the next 9 years."
— Professional Development Proverb
Most people fail because they look too far ahead. 90 days is the "Goldilocks Zone" for action.
Long enough to see real results.
Short enough to feel the urgency.
90
Day Mission
The Launch Sequence
Days 1-30
Foundation
Research, gathering tools, building the habit, and making the first small wins.
Days 31-60
Momentum
Deep work, overcoming the initial "dip," and increasing the intensity of effort.
Days 61-90
Launch
Final push toward the target, polishing results, and evaluating for the next cycle.
Your "Board of Directors"
You are the CEO of your life. Who is advising you?
The Mentor
Someone who is 5-10 years ahead of you on the same path.
The Peer Partner
Someone at your level who keeps you honest every week.
The Resource

"Surround yourself with people who make you feel like your dreams are normal, not impossible."
Radical Accountability
How will you stay on track when motivation fades?
Public Stakes
Tell 3 people exactly what you're doing and when you'll be done. Shame is a powerful motivator.

Set a 15-minute appointment with yourself every Sunday to audit your progress.
Tech Systems
Use habit trackers, calendar blocks, and focused work apps to manage your environment.
