BATNA and Power Dynamics

Students learn the concept of BATNA (Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement). They calculate their leverage in various scenarios and learn that power comes from having good alternatives, not just loudness.

Generating Options for Mutual Gain

This lesson focuses on the brainstorming phase of negotiation. Students practice generating creative solutions that satisfy both parties' interests and learn to bundle different items together to create acceptable packages.

The Final Negotiation Simulation

Students participate in a complex, multi-stage simulation where they are assigned roles with specific mandates and hidden information to apply all prior skills to reach a signed agreement.
