3 Tested Ways to Play & Facilitate
Mode A: The Uno Mashup (High Engagement) Best with standard Uno deck
Play standard Uno rules with regular playing cards. When a player plays any colored number card ending in an odd number (or special action card), they must draw the matching Color Clash prompt and answer before ending their turn. Earn 1 bonus token for sincere answers!
Mode B: Standalone Circle Circle (SEL Advisory & Groups) No extra equipment needed
Shuffle all 30 Color Clash cards. Students take turns drawing a card, reading the scenario aloud, and giving their response. Peers can give a "snap of agreement" or offer an alternate perspective. Reverse and Skip cards add fun unpredictability to circle order.
Mode C: Targeted 1-on-1 Counseling Check-In IEP & Behavior Support
Pre-select cards directly aligned with the student's behavior intervention plan or IEP goal (e.g., Red 1-6 for emotional regulation). Use the cards for low-threat roleplaying, rehearsing script responses, and building safe physical regulation habits.
Follow-Up Question Starters
- • "What makes choosing that response difficult in real life?"
- • "How could you say that so it sounds natural in your own voice?"
- • "What if the other person doesn't react nicely when you try that?"
- • "Who is a trusted adult you could bring in if this happens?"

- • Print on 65 lb to 110 lb cardstock for durable handling.
- • Laminate sheets before cutting for reuse across multiple sessions.
