These scenarios don't have a single "correct" answer. Instead, they are designed to prompt student problem-solving. Use these suggested points to guide the conversation toward fairness, empathy, and cooperation.
1. The Solo Swing
How can they decide who goes first and for how long?
Suggested Solutions: Flip a coin, play Rock-Paper-Scissors, or Sam lets Maya go first if she agrees to a 5-minute timer.
2. Game Night
What is a fair way to choose the order of players?
Suggested Solutions: Youngest goes first, highest dice roll goes first, or go in alphabetical order by name.
3. Coloring Crisis
What could Ben say to Leo to make sure they both get to use the marker?
Suggested Solutions: "I'll use it for 2 minutes, then pass it to you," or "Can I use it after you finish your clouds?"

How can the class make sure everyone gets a turn fairly?
Suggested Solutions: Create a sign-up sheet, set a 10-minute timer for each reader, or have one student read it aloud to the others.
