Why This Lesson Matters
As 10th graders navigate an increasingly digital world, it's vital they move beyond passive consumption. This lesson transforms tech analysis into a "mission" where students must decode the impacts of their daily devices. By working through station-based challenges, they develop the critical thinking skills needed to manage their digital lives intentionally rather than reactively.

The Digital Audit
Open with a "quick-fire" session: students name one piece of tech they used since waking up. Introduce the mission: Analyzing technology's influence across 8 key sectors.

Station Deployment
Divide the class into 8 small groups. Distribute Mission Logs . Explain that each station has a puzzle to solve and a discussion to record before moving on.

Station Rotations
Groups rotate every 5 minutes (rapid-fire) or 10 minutes (deep-dive). Use the presentation slides to keep time.
Facilitator Role: Circulate to provide hints for puzzles without giving answers.Discussion Focus: Ensure students are identifying both positive and negative impacts.

Assign each group one specific station to present to the class. They share their solution and the "Primary Impact" they identified during their discussion.

Assessment
Assessment is based on the completion of the Mission Log and participation in the Intelligence Briefing . Look for evidence of critical thinking: did they identify complex impacts (e.g., how educational tech increases access but might decrease attention span) rather than surface-level answers?
