Introduction: Why Brag?
"Good morning/afternoon, everyone! Today, we're going to talk about something super important for your future, and even for right now. We're going to talk about how to 'Show Your Shine!'"
"No, I don't mean boasting or being arrogant. What I mean is recognizing and celebrating your own accomplishments, and learning how to keep track of them. Think of it like a personal highlight reel of all the awesome things you do."
"Has anyone ever had to apply for something? Maybe a summer program, a team, or even a volunteer opportunity? What kind of information did they ask for?"
[Pause for student responses]
"Right! They often want to know about your grades, your activities, your interests. But it can be hard to remember everything on the spot. That's why we're going to create something called an Academic Brag Sheet or a Resume for high school. It’s a document that collects all your academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and skills in one place."

What Goes Where?

"This is straightforward: your name, email, phone number. Teacher Note: Remind them about professional email addresses. No 'gamer' handles for professional documents!"
