Using the "School Day Map"
Predictability dissolves fear. Introduce the School Day Map immediately upon arrival to ground anxious students.
Interactive Checkoffs: Direct students to color the star inside the "I did it!" badge after each event.
Reassurance Marker: Say: "Look, we completed Step 2! We only have 4 steps left before we pack up."
Tip: Let them tape their map to their desk!
End-of-Day Transition & Parent Connection
Before dismissal, spend 5 minutes reviewing their maps. Hand students their completed coloring books to take home. This serves as a vital bridge between school and home, giving students a concrete artifact to show parents while excitedly recounting their adventure.
