Team Builder - FIFA Soccer Match
ICE BREAKER
Goals
Work Collaboratively, Discuss Strategy, Analyze Data for Improvement, Learn Strengths/Struggles of Teammates
Soccer Rules
- • Standard match: 2 mins split into 1-min halves.
- • Use one finger to control. Full hands result in foul.
- • Goalkeeper may use 2 fingers inside penalty area.
- • Fouls from grabbing/flicking result in free kicks.
- • Out of bounds touches result in 2-finger throw-in.
The Plan:
In partnerships of 2-3 people, choose a representative country and devise a strategy to move the “ball” with one finger to the opposing goal. One team member will act as defense and the other 1-2 players are offense.
Each Team must remain on their side of the table top, reaching to kick/dribble the ball to the opposing goal. The team making 2 goals first is considered the winner and will play against the awaiting teams.
The awaiting team will cheer on all players from both teams with kind and sportsmanlike language.

SESSION 03
The "Hyde Way"
August 12, 2026
Leadership Launchpad
The Hyde Way
A Unified Hyde Culture
DISCUSSION SESSION
Why discuss culture?
Our culture has become less consistent over time due to a number of factors, including shifts in leadership and staffing, changes in enrollment, and challenges with academic proficiency.
These changes also present an important opportunity to intentionally rebuild and strengthen it.
Foundational success
A strong community culture is foundational to academic success. When expectations, norms, relationships, and systems work together, the culture becomes palpable.
"There’s something about this place—it feels special, like home." "I’m so happy to be here."
Our Current Goal
We hear those comments less often today, and that is something we must address. Our goal is not simply to return to the past, but to intentionally create an even stronger culture for today.
Rebuilding that sense of belonging and collective purpose creates the conditions for greater success.

The Hyde Way
Signature Practices (SP) Activities
TASK 1 Discuss and List SPs
Discuss SPs with your table and have a recorder list them on paper. Count the SPs and label your team’s sheet. Hang your list near your table.
TASK 2 Compare and Connect
Compare list with shared document. Discuss how each SP connects to classroom expectations (look, sound, feel like) and community growth. Share out on page (1-8).
Target: Connect signature practices directly to classroom culture.
Rebuilding Hyde Greatness
How do we make Hyde great—and even better—than before?
We must ensure that our SPs are not simply identified, but consistently practiced, intentionally reinforced, and coherently embedded across the school. More importantly, we must cultivate a shared and unwavering belief in Hyde’s potential and in our collective ability to achieve success.
Culture changes when belief, expectations, and action are aligned. We must believe in what Hyde can become, hold ourselves and one another to high expectations, and take consistent action to make that vision a reality.
Alignment • Belief • Action
