Students will identify that making mistakes is a natural part of learning and practice using the word "YET" to reframe challenges.

The "Oops" Hook (3 mins)
Start by attempting to draw a simple star or heart on a whiteboard. Purposefully "mess up" by making a large, messy scribble over it.
Teacher: "Oh no! I made a huge mistake! Look at this mess. I should just throw this away, right? I'm not good at drawing stars."
Pause for student reactions. Most will say "No!" or try to encourage you. Use this to transition to the story.

Bloop’s Story (10 mins)
Navigate through the Bloop Makes Magic Slides . Use these prompts:
Slide 4: Ask students to look at Bloop's face. "How can we tell Bloop is feeling sad? What do you think he is thinking?" Slide 5: Introduce the word YET with excitement. Have students whisper it, then shout it!Slide 6: Discuss how the "Oops" became a "Splat Monster." "Is the Splat Monster better than the sun Bloop planned? Why?"

Group Talk (5 mins)
Facilitate a short discussion using the prompts on Slide 7. Key focus points:
Watch For
Students who feel "mistakes are bad" or are perfectionists. Validate their feelings but emphasize growth.
The Goal
Every student should say the phrase: "I can't do it... YET!" at least once during the session.

Oops to Art Activity (2 mins)
Hand out the "Oops to Art" Worksheet . Tell students they are going to make a "mistake" on purpose and then turn it into something amazing just like Bloop did.
Extension
Create a "Mistake Gallery" on the wall where students display their Oops-to-Art creations to celebrate learning.
Support
For students who struggle to "make a mistake," provide a paper that already has a pre-drawn scribble or "splat" on it.
